B3 Special Agent

Requisition 40095:
Chicago, IL

Benefits: $72K/yr+ depending on experience, railroad retirement, pension, 401k match, health benefits, vacation, relocation for those who qualify.

Work Environment: Outdoor/Field, 12-hour shifts, weekend and holiday work required.

Principal Duties:

  • Patrol terminals, yards, right of ways, and other railroad property to ensure security.
  • Safeguard property, employees, patrons, and goods in transit.
  • Conduct inspections, background checks, and criminal investigations as assigned.
  • Implement prevention techniques, inspect, apply security devices, and conduct surveillances to deter crimes against NS property.
  • Respond to police calls for service and act as a first responder, facilitating effective coordination with fire and rescue, hazmat, and environmental, law enforcement, and other emergency services.

Required License/Certification:

  • Certified Law Enforcement Officer and/or
  • Commissioned Law Enforcement Officer and/or
  • Commissioned (Railway) Police officer

  • Supervisor Special Agent, Special Agent in Charge, Regional Superintendent Police
