Security Officer
Patrols hotel premises to maintain order, enforce regulations, and ensure observance of applicable laws by performing the following duties. Valets guest vehicle when needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Patrol lobbies, corridors, public rooms, next door parking lot and restaurant
- Confer with management, interviews guests and employees, and interrogates persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandal isms, and accidents
- Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment
- Warn or ejects troublemakers, and cautions careless persons
- Obtain assistance for accident victims and writes incident reports
- Notify staff of presence of persons with questionable reputations
- Assist management and enforcement officers in emergency situations
- Assist with lost and found
- Retrieve and park guest automobiles upon request
- Assist guest with service-related inquiries upon request
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per hotel standards)
- Maintain radio contact with the Front Desk/Night Auditor at all times.
- Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees.
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to guest and employee incidents.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
