Overview
The role:
Maintenance Technician to support tooling, equipment, and facility reliability within our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving production tooling and equipment to ensure optimal uptime, safety, and quality. This position is based on-site at our Chicago, IL facility and reports to the Automation Manager as part of the Maintenance & Facilities team.
- Assess tooling condition against drawings, perform required repairs, and validate functionality prior to release back to production.
- Reduce equipment and tooling downtime and scrap through preventive and predictive maintenance practices and spare parts management.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment, tooling, and facilities; complete all required documentation.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues, documenting all work to support a target of less than 30 minutes mean time to repair (MTTR).
- Recommend improvements to tooling, processes, and equipment to enhance productivity, uptime, and reliability.
- Assist with fabrication, installation, and implementation of maintenance and continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to MSDS requirements, safety regulations, and emergency evacuation procedures.
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of preventive maintenance experience through hands-on work, training, or certification.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, machine schematics, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of pneumatics, basic electrical systems, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Experience using shop equipment and tools; basic welding capability (MIG, ARC, TIG, Stick).
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to maintain electronic maintenance records and work independently.
- Ability to use hands and tools for fine motor tasks and equipment operation.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, squat, and work in prone positions as required.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8 hours or more) and maintain balance while working at heights.
- Adequate vision, hearing, and communication ability to perform job duties safely.
- Ability to work on ladders, platforms, and elevated surfaces.
- Ability to perform routine computer-based work.

- Less than 5% local travel required
- Valid driver’s license required

The pay range for this role is $27.32 – $30.47 per hour. This role is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. The pay range listed for this position represents a good-faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and location. This range is subject to change in the future and does not guarantee a specific salary.
