Position: Light/ Medium Automotive Technician - Service Truck

Overview

CAMFS is currently hiring a Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician to join our recently acquired company,
Corcoran Fleet Services
, to support our combined future growth. The Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, licensed DOT inspections, and other duties as assigned at our customer locations. The technician will continue to learn additional advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques and must comply with all company policies and achieve high level performance metrics.

  • You will work on various light/medium duty vehicles such as F150, F250, and F350, including some specialty equipment, etc.
  • Travel is required 100% of the time. This position will service multiple customers in your area and around the state, depending on customer concentration.
  • A rotating schedule of Mon-Fri the first week and Mon-Sat the second week (Home every day).
  • This is a Flat Rate Position with an abundance of work available.

This role supports our fleet services operations and requires adherence to safety, health, environmental policies, and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Always follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.
  • Travel to and perform work at customer locations, with most work performed outside.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light and medium vehicles in the field.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, Diesel tools, lifts, and jacks.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of customer vehicles, trucks, and equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starter/alternators, engine electronics, and transmissions (gas and diesel).
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair various systems and components including electrical, braking, cooling, air conditioning, and engine electronics.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using scanners, pressure gauges, and other test instruments.
  • Identify problems, evaluate information, and generate and evaluate alternatives.
  • Independently determine parts required for each job, order and pick up parts for installation.
  • Document work per company standards and upload photos of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO).
  • Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion, as applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and assist with end-of-day cleanup of tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Apply knowledge from training to perform the job and work with the support team to meet customer needs.
  • Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work, and allocate time effectively.
  • Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and professional standards in all work activities.
  • Maintain productivity levels and strive to work within standard repair times where applicable.
  • Coordinate with corporate offices to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve PO numbers, and discuss RO findings.
  • Participate in all required safety training and maintain assigned service vehicle with daily safety checks and pre/post trip inspections.
  • Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Automotive Technician on light/medium vehicle repair or equivalent combination of education/skills.
  • Two (2) years of equivalent experience in a similar technician role.
  • Participate in and complete all required company training.
