Journeyman Plumber Location

Chicago, Illinois

Position Overview

Aerotek is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Plumber to join our team. This role is ideal for an expert‑level professional with strong experience in commercial and residential plumbing systems, repairs, and installations. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands‑on experience and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and execute work based on mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Diagnose and perform emergency repairs on plumbing systems, including leaks, clogs, and system failures
  • Conduct plumbing repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance
  • Install, maintain, and repair sinks, faucets, toilets, bathtubs; drain lines, water supply lines, and traps; radiator valves and steam line components; natural gas piping and risers
  • Perform minor steam line and gas line rerouting and repairs
  • Maintain and repair storm, sewage, and drainage systems
  • Install and service equipment such as hot water heaters, sump pumps, sewage pumps, ejector systems
  • Lay out and maintain pipelines for water, gas, and compressed air systems
  • Complete material requisitions using internal procedures
  • Adhere to company inventory policies and procedures
  • Perform brazing and soldering tasks as required
Required Skills & Expertise
  • Strong experience with plumbing systems and installation
  • Proficiency working with PVC and copper piping; cast iron systems; waste, drain, and vent systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Solid understanding of construction environments and new installations
  • Hands‑on experience with brazing and soldering
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional plumbing experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Willingness to continue plumbing education and training as required by the company
  • Required Licenses:
    State of Illinois Journeyman Plumbing License;
    City of Chicago Journeyman Plumbing License

Pay and Benefits

Pay range: $40.00 – $55.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change.
