Utility Locator

Hourly pay ranges from $21.00 for new locators to $33.00 for those with substantial prior locating experience.

• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
• Search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately mark locations, complete required documentation, and photograph each locate.
• Work full‑time daytime shifts with a 48‑hour turnaround, often including day‑after holidays and some weekends.
• Be available for overtime, weekend shifts, and on‑call shifts (including nights) as required by business needs.

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions; prior outdoor experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with technology, including ticket and claims management systems.
• Available for overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed.
• Pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to work in confined spaces; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to distinguish color codes used to mark underground utilities.
• Read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
• No prior locating experience required; experienced locators encouraged to apply.
