Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems across our service area. You'll work directly with customers in their homes or businesses and coordinate with our dispatch team to manage your schedule efficiently.
This is a year‑round, full‑time position. We serve customers across the Naperville area and take pride in doing the job right the first time.
Core Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, roof‑top units, and ductless mini‑splits
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tune‑ups for residential and commercial equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant system issues
- Identify and communicate repair options and equipment recommendations to customers
- Represent Dutchman professionally in customer homes and businesses
- Explain diagnoses and service options in clear, non‑technical terms
- Set realistic expectations around timelines, repairs, and next steps
- Provide a positive customer experience that reflects our company values
- Complete accurate service documentation in company systems after each call
- Communicate parts needs to the office team in a timely manner
- Manage inventory on your assigned vehicle and keep it properly stocked
- Submit purchase documentation and receipts
- 5+ years of HVAC service experience
- Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and repair a range of HVAC equipment (both residential and commercial)
- Experience with service‑based field work and direct customer interaction
- EPA certification required
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across HVAC systems
- Ability to manage a service schedule independently
- Professional communication with customers and office staff
- Attention to detail in documentation and record‑keeping
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Ability to work in varied environments including attics, crawlspaces, and outdoors
- Comfortable working in both heating and cooling seasons
- Proficiency with mobile devices and service software for documentation
- Ability to learn and use company dispatch and field service tools
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Full‑time, field‑based position
- $35‑45 based on experience, with performance incentives
