We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and takes pride in solving complex mechanical and electrical challenges. In this role, you’ll be the face of Greenbridge at customer sites, providing expert repair, maintenance, installation, and startup support across a wide range of packaging equipment, including stretch wrappers, shrink wrappers, case sealers and erectors, labeling systems, and strapping solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Performs repair, maintenance and start up on stretch wrappers, shrink wrappers, case sealing, case erectors, label printer/applicators, strapping equipment and assorted FS products at customer sites and Greenbridge company sites.
  • Performs setup, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies using moderately complex blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Performs a variety of sophisticated electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and electro-mechanical tests, repairs and maintenance on equipment, assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts to ensure the equipment functions according to manufacturers’ specifications or to determine the cause of equipment failure.
  • Supports systems integration with customers, manufacturers/suppliers and other service personnel involving complex machine problems and/or turnkey systems.
  • Performs complex rebuilds and remanufacturing and participates in application engineering activities.
  • Manages and maintains an accurate and effective truck inventory and maintains the company vehicle, as per company policies and expectations.
  • Works in unison with Field Service Manager to maximize service call priorities based on service call activities.
  • Completes field service work orders, including billing of travel, labor hours, parts and other related items in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • May provide direction for less experienced team members.
  • Provides subject matter expertise of Greenbridge packaging systems and related equipment.
  • Performs product demonstrations and training as needed.
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years performing repairs and maintenance on packaging equipment or related machinery.
  • Must have certifications from manufacturers’ training on stretch wrappers, shrink wrappers, case sealers, case erectors, label printers, and strapping equipment or related products.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; mechanical/electrical trade school and/or 2-year technical degree strongly preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving history.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and must work well with customers, suppliers and coworkers.
  • Able to use a multimeter in troubleshooting applications.
  • Strong understanding of automatic machines and mastery of semi-automatic machines.
  • Strong knowledge of all repair tools and can demonstrate their proper use.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and pneumatic controls and valves.
  • Must have a strong mechanical and electrical background.
  • Capable of troubleshooting (electrical and mechanical) issues and developing an efficient solution to resolve problems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Passion to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word, and other applications as required.
  • Programming software experience preferred — Allen Bradley and/or Siemens.
Working conditions / Physical requirements
  • Must lift and handle parts up to 75 pounds.
  • Must work in industrial environments, including working on ladders and lifts at high elevation, as well as low elevations such as underneath equipment.
  • Must work in a variety of settings, including fast-paced industrial and production environments.
  • Some overnight travel required, including long-distance driving and air travel.
