General Maintenance Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated General Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in maintenance and engineering, with at least five years of hands‑on experience in a similar role. This position requires strong mechanical skills, HVAC and electrical proficiency, ability to read blueprints and schematics, and troubleshooting skills. The engineer will be proactive in ensuring all hotel facilities operate smoothly and efficiently.
Good communication skills are necessary.
- Perform daily inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
- Address guest room issues promptly, including lighting, plumbing, and minor carpentry repairs, ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests.
- Maintain public spaces (lobbies, meeting rooms, recreational areas) to meet safety and aesthetic standards.
- Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment used in hotel maintenance tasks.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including fire safety, OSHA regulations, and hotel policies.
- Assist in monitoring and optimizing energy usage throughout the property to support sustainability initiatives.
- Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies (power outages, leaks, equipment failures) to minimize disruption.
- Collaborate with other departments (housekeeping, front office) to address maintenance needs and support operations.
- Minimum of 5 years in maintenance or engineering, preferably in a hotel, resort, or similar environment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; basic carpentry and HVAC knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in relevant fields are a plus.
- Physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and guests professionally.
$53.68 per hour
