Responsibilities- Operate audio‑visual equipment, including 16mm movie projectors, tape recorders, CD players, slide projectors, VCRs, film strip projectors, and phonographs.
- Provide technical assistance and direction to teachers and students in the operation of audio‑visual equipment.
- Inspect and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Order and replace worn‑out parts on equipment.
- Maintain inventory records of audio‑visual equipment and related materials.
- Store and distribute audio‑visual equipment to teachers as requested.
- Graduation from high school (or G.E.D. equivalent) plus one year of work experience in operating and maintaining a variety of audio‑visual equipment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Good knowledge of the methods and procedures used in the operation and maintenance of audio‑visual equipment.
- Ability to provide technical assistance to teachers and students and to prepare and maintain accurate records.
- Skill in the operation, care, and maintenance of audio‑visual equipment and materials.
Light work:
Exerting up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally, or up to ten (10) pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently to move objects. The position is rated as Light Work (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree, or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but involves pushing or pulling arm controls.

- Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency – employees must live within the City of Chicago boundaries within six months of hire and maintain residency throughout employment.
- Be fully vaccinated or submit to weekly COVID‑19 testing – employees must be fully vaccinated within thirty days of hire or submit to weekly testing if unvaccinated.
