THE ROLE
We’re looking for skilled Builders and Builder Helpers to join the Suncoast Team. As our Chicago location gets up and running we are looking for people who enjoy hands-on work, take pride in craftsmanship, and like seeing a project come together from start to finish. You’ll work on custom outdoor structures including patio enclosures, louvered roofs, and retractable screen systems at residential and commercial sites throughout the Chicago area.
This is a full-time role with opportunities for growth, leadership, and additional earnings.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Assemble and install premium outdoor living products such as screen rooms, patio covers, adjustable louver systems, pergolas, and motorized screening solutions.
- Interpret project specifications, layouts, site measurements, and construction drawings to complete installations accurately.
- Prepare job sites by coordinating equipment, materials, and tools required for each project.
- Use a variety of construction tools and equipment while following company safety procedures.
- Ensure all work areas remain organized, secure, and presentable throughout the installation process.
- Provide courteous and professional interaction with homeowners, contractors, and other stakeholders on-site.
- Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and guiding less experienced crew members when required.
- Coordinate daily installation activities with the Project Manager to maintain timelines, workmanship standards, and overall project success.
- Proven construction, carpentry, or installation experience
- Ability to read measurements and interpret drawings
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience leading or mentoring others is an asset
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly
- Comfortable using ladders, scaffolding, and safety equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Competitive hourly pay ranging from $18-$20/hour (helpers) and $25-$30/hour (builders)
- Production bonus eligibility following completion of training
