Position: Pipelayer - Various Locations BC

Dawson Civil is looking for a Pipelayer who can install and maintain underground piping systems, prepare trenches, align and connect pipes, ensuring secure and leak‑free connections while adhering to safety regulations.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Civil
, working in a temporary, full‑time position of Pipelayer
, reporting to the Pipe Foreman
. The Pipelayer will be responsible for the correct installation of underground utilities (water and sewer) as required. The ideal candidate will effectively work with customers, both internal and external, to provide a valued service as an industry expert in construction services. Your base location will be Kamloops, BC and will require some travel throughout our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Check grades and alignment for conformance to requirements on plans using builder's level, pipe laser, line transfer units
  • Install water, sanitary sewer and storm water collection systems and related construction duties
  • Install all classes of pipe
  • Understand bedding and compaction requirements and processes
  • Be proficient with cutting, beveling and connecting pipes
  • Provide construction direction and training to laborers
  • Assemble and install shoring in excavations as required
  • Attend and participate in all safety meetings and abide by safety policies
  • Ensure all tools are properly maintained and stored
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience and understanding of the civil construction industry
  • Knowledge of pipe types and fittings
  • Have a good understanding in shoring and sloping requirements for excavations
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
