North America Centralis hiring skilled Diesel Mechanics in the Palatine, IL area.
Earn Up To $35 Per Hour
Previous mechanical experience required!
Pay & Incentives- Up to $35.00 per hour (based on experience)*
- $4,000 sign-on bonus*
- NACSB certification incentives earn up to $5.00/hour additional pay*

- Maintain, repair, and overhaul school buses and fleet vehicles in compliance with FMCSA and DOT standards
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components
- Support adoption of electric vehicle (EV) maintenance practices and technology
- Complete tune-ups, wheel alignments, and safety checks
- Replace worn parts, perform oil changes, and routine servicing
- Test drive vehicles to verify safety and performance
- Perform minor bodywork and repainting as needed
- Track parts usage, manage inventory, and order supplies
- Report safety concerns and implement corrective actions
- Mentor junior technicians and support team development
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Proven experience in diesel engine repair and fleet maintenance
- Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Leadership mindset with willingness to train and mentor others
- Technical certification (ASE preferred)
