Industrial Facilities Mechanic

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Facilities Mechanic to join our team in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various systems and equipment within our facility. If you have a knack for troubleshooting and a passion for keeping things running smoothly, this could be the position for you.

Responsibilities Perform daily inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of facility and utility equipment.

Work outdoors and on rooftops regularly to maintain and inspect equipment.

Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC units, cooling towers, exhaust fans, heaters, air handlers, chillers, and air dryers.

Maintain large industrial vacuum systems and vacuum pumps.

Identify and address developing equipment issues before they result in major failures or downtime.

Perform soldering, threading, pipe fitting, and related piping work.

Complete preventative maintenance and routine equipment checks.

Communicate effectively with maintenance leads and supervision regarding equipment conditions and repair needs.

Work independently while prioritizing tasks and identifying additional opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

EPA Universal Certification required.

Ability to independently troubleshoot and work on HVAC and facility equipment.

Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with industrial facility systems.

Experience with pipe fitting, threading, and soldering.

Ability to work safely on rooftops and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
