Job Title:Maintenance Lead
Job Description
The Maintenance Lead provides hands‑on technical leadership and daily direction to the maintenance team while performing advanced mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance activities. This role ensures that plant equipment, building systems, and production assets operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. As the primary point of contact on shift, the Maintenance Lead prioritizes work assignments, supports team development, and provides coverage for maintenance and engineering leadership as needed, directly contributing to plant uptime, food safety, product quality, and overall operational performance.
Responsibilities- Lead the maintenance team on shift by providing technical guidance, assigning daily work, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and facility systems to minimize downtime and maintain safe, efficient operations.
- Replace and repair parts, identify defective components, and perform final testing and adjustments to verify proper equipment performance.
- Dismantle, rebuild, and reassemble machinery using appropriate hand and power tools while following safety and quality standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot motors, switches, lighting circuits, and other electrical equipment to restore proper function.
- Perform basic adjustments to instrument control panels under appropriate supervision to optimize equipment performance.
- Work safely with electrical systems by following established safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and company policies.
- Perform general facility maintenance, including plumbing repairs, pipe fitting, carpentry, painting, and minor concrete and plaster repairs.
- Fabricate and repair parts using machine shop equipment such as drill presses, saws, and grinders to support equipment reliability.
- Complete preventive maintenance work orders accurately, thoroughly, and on time to support a proactive maintenance program.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, sky jacks, lawn equipment, and snow removal equipment as needed to support plant and grounds maintenance.
- Serve as the point of contact on shift for maintenance‑related issues, coordinating with production and other departments to address equipment needs.
- Support the development of maintenance team members by sharing technical knowledge, demonstrating best practices, and promoting a safety‑first mindset.
- Provide coverage for maintenance or engineering leadership as needed to ensure continuity of operations and support for the maintenance function.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and facility systems in an industrial environment.
- Hands‑on experience replacing and repairing parts, detecting defective components, and performing final testing and adjustments.
- Proficiency in dismantling, rebuilding, and reassembling machinery using hand and power tools.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting motors, switches, lighting circuits, and electrical equipment.
- Ability to perform basic adjustments to instrument control panels under appropriate supervision.

- Comfort working in a leadership capacity, including serving as the primary maintenance contact during assigned shifts.
- Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and communicate clearly with production and operations personnel.
