About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of facility equipment and infrastructure across various sites in the United States. This position is responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards. The Maintenance Technician will collaborate closely with operations and management teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and implement preventive maintenance programs.
By proactively identifying potential issues and addressing them promptly, the technician helps extend the lifespan of equipment and supports overall operational productivity. This role demands a hands‑on approach, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and controls.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery, HVAC systems, electrical panels, plumbing, and other facility equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing malfunctions promptly to reduce operational disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support asset management and compliance.
- Collaborate with team members and management to schedule maintenance activities with minimal impact on production.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance operations.
Skills:
The Maintenance Technician utilizes their electrical, mechanical, and plumbing knowledge daily to diagnose and repair equipment issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime. Strong troubleshooting skills enable the technician to quickly identify root causes of malfunctions and implement effective solutions. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with team members and reporting maintenance activities clearly and accurately. Familiarity with technical manuals and schematics supports precise and safe execution of repairs and installations.
Additionally, proficiency with maintenance management software helps in tracking work orders, scheduling preventive maintenance, and managing inventory, contributing to organized and proactive facility upkeep.
