Parq Ex is looking for a smart, reliable, and hands-on Field Operations Specialist to join our growing team in Chicago. In this hybrid, entry-level role, you’ll be on the front lines of deploying and supporting our smart parking technology—blending fieldwork, light tech troubleshooting, customer interaction, and operations coordination.

What You’ll DoPre-Sales & Site Surveys
Conduct on-site or remote surveys to gather data on gates, garages, or access points
Identify required IoT devices, signage, and control systems
Capture detailed site measurements, tech specs, and photos for project planning
Installation Oversight
Coordinate on-site installations with vendors, techs, and electricians
Mount and wire small IoT hardware (low-voltage, dry contact wiring, etc.)
Follow install guides and technical diagrams with precision
Post-Install Setup & Testing
Test device functionality and confirm proper installation with the support team
Document all installs, flag any issues, and provide visual verification (photos, notes)
Capture signage placement and access system updates
Customer & Internal Coordination
Act as the on-site liaison for property managers during deployments
Assist with signage logistics, enforcement setup, and scheduling
Support internal teams (support, sales, product) with field-based tasks
Escalation & On-Call Support (Occasional/Optional)
Be available (occasionally) for off-hours support for escalations or field emergencies
Troubleshoot hardware issues either remotely or in the field
Required
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (travel within Chicagoland)
Comfortable with hand tools (e.g., drill, screwdriver, wire stripper)
Tech-literate: can follow diagrams, scan QR codes, understand basic wiring
Strong communicator and collaborator
Calm under pressure and resourceful in the field
Detail-oriented with good documentation habits (photos, notes, checklists)
Nice to Have
Experience with low-voltage wiring, networking, or IoT/smart device installations
Previous roles in field tech, property management, facilities, or security systems
Familiarity with mobile/web apps for documentation or coordination
Flexible hours depending on installation schedule
Hybrid: remote coordination, in-office prep, and on-site work
Occasional evening or weekend availability for planned or urgent installs
