Maintenance Mechanic
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving plant equipment and facility systems. This role is responsible for ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently while supporting preventive maintenance initiatives and minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial maintenance, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment failures.
- Repair and rebuild pumps, gearboxes, reducers, electric motors, conveyors, and drive systems.
- Install and repair piping systems, including stainless steel, black iron, copper, PVC, and flexible tubing.
- Fabricate and repair machine components using welding, sheet metal, and machining equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC motors, motor controls, sensors, timers, switches, solenoids, and related electrical components.
- Perform machine adjustments on filling, packaging, sealing, capping, and conveying equipment.
- Troubleshoot barcode scanners and industrial inkjet printing systems.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain maintenance records, inventory of spare parts, and repair documentation.
- Support production teams and coordinate with outside contractors as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and quality regulations, including FDA, GMP, USDA, and OSHA standards.
- Technical degree or equivalent technical training.
- Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience working with robotics or automated manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (cleanroom experience is a plus).
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring tools and maintenance equipment.
- Stable work history with demonstrated reliability.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as business needs require.
- Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (FDA/GMP).
- Experience supporting high-speed production, packaging, or filling equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Candidates with backgrounds focused primarily on HVAC or carpentry will not be considered.
- Flexibility to work different shifts is required for long-term opportunities.
