Electronics Equipment Test Technician
We are seeking a hands-on Electronic Equipment Test Technician to support the setup, operation, maintenance, and transportation of proprietary testing equipment at third-party laboratory facilities.
This role is ideal for an individual with an electronics, electrical, electromechanical, or technical trade background who enjoys assembling electrical equipment/parts. The technician will regularly transport company equipment to testing facilities, assemble and configure systems on-site, operate equipment during testing, troubleshoot any issues that arise, perform repairs when necessary, and return equipment to the company following project completion.
Success in this role requires strong mechanical aptitude, basic electronics knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently at off-site testing locations.
Key Responsibilities- Transport company-owned testing equipment to laboratory and testing facilities
- Assemble, install, and configure equipment at customer and third-party testing sites
- Operate equipment during scheduled testing activities and ensure proper performance
- Monitor equipment functionality and troubleshoot operational issues in real time
- Perform preventative maintenance, adjustments, and calibration checks as required
- Work closely with engineers and testing personnel to ensure successful test execution
- Safely load, unload, secure, and transport equipment between company headquarters and testing locations
- Maintain accurate records of tests, repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment performance
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and operating guidelines at all testing facilities
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- 1+ years of experience working with electronic, electrical, mechanical, or industrial equipment.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic test equipment.
- Comfortable working independently at laboratory locations.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally and drive equipment to testing facilities on a regular basis.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Electronics assembly or repair experience.
- Electrical wiring and troubleshooting.
- Industrial equipment operation.
- Field service technician experience.
- Mechanical assembly and equipment maintenance.
- Experience supporting engineering test programs.
- Hands-on and mechanically inclined.
- Comfortable working both in a shop environment and at off-site facilities.
- Resourceful and capable of diagnosing problems independently.
- Professional when interacting with customers, laboratories, and testing personnel.
- Dependable and organized with strong attention to detail.
