General Laborer – Drainage Installation
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to join a small crew assisting with drainage installation projects in the Ashland, IL area. This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable driving a truck and trailer, working outdoors, and performing physical labor.
Pay & Schedule- Pay: $21.00/hour
- Schedule:
Monday–Saturday, approximately 7:00 AM–7:00 PM - Job Type: Temporary/Contract
- Overtime Available
- Location:
Ashland, IL
- Assist with machine maintenance and operation
- Use a grease gun and fuel equipment
- Drive a truck and trailer to and from worksites
- Safely back a truck and trailer
- Pull a trailer carrying drainage tile
- Drive in a straight line alongside operating equipment without overlapping other rows
- Assist with laying drainage tile in the field
- Cut pipe and plug holes at the end of each row
- Use a shovel as needed
- Climb ladders and into/out of trucks and equipment
- Assist with attaching drainage tile rolls to machinery
- Travel daily to various worksites
No CDL is required, but candidates must be comfortable driving and backing a truck and trailer.
Qualifications- Valid driver's license and comfortable driving a truck and trailer
- Able to safely back a truck and trailer
- Reliable and comfortable working as part of a small crew
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to ask questions and follow directions
- Able to work quickly while maintaining accuracy
- Flexible and comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing ladders
- Walking, bending, and shoveling
- Climbing in and out of trucks
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Working outdoors in the elements
- $21/hour
- Overtime available
