Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electro Mechanic to join a chemical manufacturing environment in Chicago, IL. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an electro-mechanical maintenance professional who enjoys hands‑on troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and keeping production operations running safely and efficiently.

In this role, you will support a safety‑focused operation where maintenance, production, and engineering teams work closely together to solve problems, improve equipment performance, and reduce downtime. • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, conveyors, pumps, mixers, and automated systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
• Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, controls, electrical components, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings to support repairs and improvements.
• Follow safety, environmental, and regulatory procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, hazardous energy control, and chemical handling requirements.

• Direct hire opportunity.
• Pay range: $42 to $43 per hour.
• Schedule:
  
  Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM CST.

• Maintain and troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment in a chemical, processing, or industrial manufacturing environment.
• Support preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Diagnose electrical systems, motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, instrumentation, pumps, conveyors, and automated production systems.
• Partner with production, engineering, and maintenance teams on root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• 5+ years of electro-mechanical maintenance experience in a chemical, manufacturing, processing, or industrial environment.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, motors, instrumentation, and automated production equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems from 120V to 480V.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of industrial safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electromechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
• Experience working in a chemical manufacturing or industrial processing environment.
• Experience supporting equipment improvement projects and reliability‑focused maintenance programs.
