JOB SUMMARY: The Standard Diesel Mechanic will perform repair work and maintenance for over the road semi-trucks, trailers, and other diesel vehicles.

• Running diagnostic tests on trucks, including refrigeration systems.
• Analyzing diagnostic test results.
• Replacing steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
• Checking vehicle lighting systems.
• Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
• Performing preventative maintenance on semi-trucks.
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
• Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
• Most of our work is Cummins and Detroit Diesel and Freightliner
• Carrier and Thermo King refrigerated units
• We do some trailer body work, but extremely limited
• We work on trailers suspensions, dolly legs, etc.
• Welding – both aluminum and iron

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (Optional).
• ASE Diesel Certification (Preferred).
• Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred)
• Aptitude for mathematics and science.
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
• Good IT and diagnostic skills. Preferred knowledge of Cummins and Freightliner diagnostic systems.
• Physically fit and able to lift 100-150 pounds or more.
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
  
  Attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and written skills.
• Must own tools for the trade.
