Housing Program Case Aide needed for Chicago, IL.
Transportation and InsuranceCandidate must have reliable transportation as well as the ability to carry 100,000/300,000 bodily liability car insurance.
Schedule8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and Saturday hours as needed.
Annual Salary$40,000.00

Under the general supervision of the Team Lead or designee, this position works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the youth and families served. This position works closely with NYAP housing advocates, clients and community partners, providing support services toward the ultimate goal of living safely and successfully in the community.
Responsibilities- Actively supports, represents, and extends the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Assist housing advocates to provide in-home supportive services, community resource referrals, advocacy, and other social service interventions to the clients.
- Communicate regularly with program participants via phone, virtually and in person, documenting each interaction following program guidelines and expectations.
- Conduct housing searches, reach out to community resources and assist program participants to connect to resources in their communities.
- Assist housing advocates to complete housing applications with the clients, review rental agreements and accompanying clients to view rental units.
- Follow-up with clients to review individual service plan implementation.
- Assist housing advocates to obtain furniture and utilities for the program participants.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Participate in program related training.
- Completing all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Associate’s degree preferred or two years of college coursework
- 2 years of work experience working in direct service strongly preferred.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the Chicagoland area strongly preferred
- Ability to drive own vehicle within service area required.
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate program and participant needs.
- Capacity to be flexible and responsive to clients served, system partners and internal customers.
- Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function.
- Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others.
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers and photocopiers as well as software including word processing and spreadsheets.
- The person in this position must follow a team concept and support both agency goals and co-workers. Employees must be able to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to people from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
