We are now hiring for full-time Lead Youth Prevention Coordinators to join our North Center office.
SALARY: The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $29,000 and $31,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinates implementation and support for programming at multiple schools.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with schools, parents, youth and other community stakeholders in program service area.
- Negotiates agreements within the approved program with agencies and individuals who provide services. Secures appropriate agency approvals as necessary.
- Plans and makes recommendations for the implementation of high‑quality program activities that meet the mission and vision of program and that provide a range of learning.
- Has shared responsibility for meeting program requirements in partnership with schools and families, and agency and funder standards for program, including record‑keeping and monitoring of policies and procedures.
- Facilitates Youth Prevention Education in school and community settings.
- Ensures fidelity to evidence‑based curricula.
- Facilitates Youth Advisory Committee Meetings.
- Conducts presentations and/or facilitates meetings.
- Provides services and education on substance misuse, substance use disorders, and prevention strategies.
- Participates in ongoing staff development and training.
- Demonstrates knowledge of current substance use trends and best practices for prevention and intervention.
- Identifies resources and establishes a referral system within and among community agencies designed to support youth and families.
- Works effectively with diverse staff and service populations.
- Works with community groups around unmet and special needs by providing outreach and education.
- Oversees and submits monthly and quarterly statistics, narrative and activity reports.
- Serves as one of the primary contacts for the grant and helps support communication with grant contacts.
- Provides consistent supervision of two program staff and meets on a regular basis with program staff and program supervisor.
- Responsible for maintaining expenditures within budget and monitoring program budget.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university,
required. Five years of total combined (work/volunteer/internship) experience in program development or program management, and working with children in an educational, activity, or social service program required. - Demonstrated ability to render adequate service to clients and to organize and manage job efficiently,
required. - Access to mobility on a regular basis required; an automobile with insurance coverage and a valid driver’s license may be required depending on location .
- Requires mobility to work with community‑based caseload.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred bilingual Spanish.
- Driving for work required with a personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites required.
