Job Title: Redeploy Juvenile Project Coordinator/Court Coordinator

Salary: $75,704 – Grade 19,
Non-union

The Redeploy Juvenile Project Coordinator is an employee of the Circuit Court of Cook County and reports directly to the Case Coordination Manager. They function as the liaison between the Court, the Juvenile Redeploy Program, and its stakeholders. The Redeploy Juvenile Court Coordinator will be available to work at any of the juvenile courtrooms throughout the County of Cook.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advice, answer questions, and educate parties on the Juvenile Redeploy model.
  • Work a flexible schedule as assigned by their manager.
  • Receive Redeploy referrals from judges and parties for intake, in person or through the cFive case management system.
  • Assess youth’s risk and need using provided instruments when needed.
  • Transmit Redeploy referrals to appropriate agencies for intake.
  • Monitor and track all Redeploy referrals and maintain up-to-date information for the Court, the Director of Juvenile Redeploy Services, and for evaluation purposes.
  • Communicate with Redeploy staff weekly for up-to-date information on referrals, including intake and active cases.
  • Utilize case management systems provided by the County and State for data input, notes, data extraction, and report production.
  • Visit Redeploy offices and conduct evaluations to ensure quality services are being provided.
  • Participate in wrap‑around staffings of Redeploy youth.
  • Maintain data on Redeploy participants as required.
  • Participate in meetings regarding Redeploy participants and duties.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to host meetings describing Redeploy services and protocols.
  • Participate in regular staffings of Redeploy youth to determine level transitions, address issues, determine eligibility, and complete services.
  • Participate in regular staffings with the Case Coordination Manager regarding assigned cases.
  • Represent the Circuit Court with dignity, integrity, and a spirit of cooperation in all relationships with staff and the public.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Juvenile Redeploy Services and the Case Coordination Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with the Court or in the juvenile justice field.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of the juvenile justice system, including institutional, out‑patient, and related child development and family dynamics programs.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in the development and implementation of service delivery programs.
  • Principles and practices of social service delivery, including crisis intervention, particularly in relation to children, youth, and families.
  • Computer applications related to the work.
  • Valid driver’s license and working vehicle for travel to multiple job sites.
  • Techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio‑economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, in person and over the telephone, often where relations may be confrontational or strained.
  • Principles and techniques of making effective oral presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Perform all duties described above.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Be available to work in‑person 100% of the scheduled work week.
  • Be able to walk for short distances and climb stairs.
  • Be able to travel throughout Cook County.
  • Ability to intermittently twist to reach equipment and supplies.
  • Be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation.
  • Be able to use a telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis.
