El Hogar del Niño, a Brightpoint organization, provides early childhood care and education services to Latinx and newly arriving families in the Pilsen community.
Family Support SpecialistThe Family Support Specialist is the first point of contact for families applying for center‑based Early Childhood services. The role involves verifying participant eligibility, identifying family needs, and coordinating enrollment to support the well‑being of children and families.
Candidate Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, human services, family studies, or a related field.
- Gateways Family Specialist Credential Level 4.
- Up to two years of related outreach or casework experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license, personal auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
(Candidates without the required degree or credentials may be considered with an approved educational plan)
Job Responsibilities- Recruit families with children for enrollment, including in‑person and virtual recruitment events.
- Collect and verify all necessary documentation to validate eligibility.
- Coordinate placement of eligible children at the center or in home‑based programs with supervisors, managers, or directors.
- Build trusting and nurturing relationships with clients and participants.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure families receive all support services.
- Monitor attendance and absenteeism, contact families, and develop participation plans as needed.
- Report absences per protocol to the appropriate supervisor.
- Provide support to parents, providers, and partners to ensure funding requirements are met.
- Compensation: $20.19–$23.24 per hour, commensurate with experience; bilingual candidates may receive additional compensation.
