Location
:
Southeast Office, Chicago, IL.

Salary (average): $53,000 - $58,000 annually, based on skill and experience.

Essential Job Functions
  • Supervise Community School staff, including interns and volunteers; develop and implement comprehensive training and participate in hiring and termination processes.
  • Manage all components of the Community School program: out‑of‑school‑time programs, adult services, family and community activities, recruitment, retention, and community development.
  • Apply risk‑management skills, implementing a restorative approach to behavioral problems.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments of the school and community to ensure culturally competent, restorative services that meet high learning standards.
  • Plan and recommend high‑quality program activities aligned with the Community School mission and vision.
  • Facilitate Community School Advisory Board meetings, delegate tasks, recruit members, and share responsibility for meeting funder deliverables and agency/funder standards.
  • Ensure site‑based reporting and program evaluation components are completed, including record‑keeping, monitoring policies, evaluating outcomes, and analyzing data to support recruitment and retention.
  • Organize consumer and oversight committees and seek input from teachers, school staff, LSC members, parents, and students to determine ongoing needs.
  • Negotiate agreements within approved programs with agencies and individuals who provide services, secure agency approvals, and manage additional out‑of‑school‑time programs at principal’s request.
  • Manage all aspects of the Community School budget, maintain expenditures within budget, process payments for independent contractors, purchase supplies, update budget tracking weekly, and review financial reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative working with school personnel, agency staff, parents, and community partners.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule that includes evenings and some weekends.
  • Dual accountability: responsibilities to both the agency and school administration.
  • Access to reliable transportation; automobile with insurance and valid driver’s license may be required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (depending on location).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/365 and ability to learn additional required programs within 3 months.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of combined work/volunteer/internship experience in program development or management with children in an educational, activity, or social service program required
    .
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and 6+ years of combined experience in program development or management with children in an educational, activity, or social service program required
    .
  • 1+ year of supervisory or team‑lead experience preferred
    .
Additional Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of all relevant screenings and criminal background checks.
Transportation / Travel Requirements
  • Driving for work preferred with a personally owned vehicle; travel between sites required.
Physical Demands
  • Requires sustained sitting and standing; frequent talking, hearing, handling objects, and occasional kneeling or crouching.
  • Requires close visual acuity for data preparation, transcription, and computer use.
