Position Summary
In keeping with the Mission Statement and Principles of Covenant House, part of the Covenant House international network is committed to giving homeless youth a safe haven, absolute respect, unconditional love, and a path to lasting independence through housing programs and providing a continuum of care through supportive services. The Supportive Services Clinical Manager is responsible for overseeing all case management support services provided to youth within Covenant House Illinois.
This leadership role supports staff in developing and implementing comprehensive service care plans, and guides program design by assessing the care needs of youth, eliciting staff and youth input, and developing therapeutic interventions that anticipate and respond to their care needs. The position tracks service utilization and care metrics and helps youth build skills needed to support their overall success.
The position also works closely with program teams to support youth in both residential and drop-in services, including group curriculum design, and supporting skill development for both case management and Youth Engagement Specialists, in enhancing trauma-informed, relentless engagement and best practice models of care. The Supportive Services Clinical Manager provides both supervision and direct clinical case management services to youth and helps support access to needed services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Uphold Covenant House Illinois’ standards of conduct, policies and procedures at all times.
- Respect youth confidentiality while understanding and complying with requirements of mandated reporting, duty to warn, HIPAA, and other limits to confidentiality.
- Have an understanding of and support the implementation of Trauma Informed Care, Harm Reduction, and Positive Youth Development.
- Possess and maintain knowledge of the needs of youth experiencing homelessness.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled or mandatory meetings, trainings and supervision sessions as requested, including weekly case review.
- Model appropriate, professional behavior for Covenant House Illino is workforce to establish and maintain superior services in a safe and inviting atmosphere.
- Ensure the provision of Trauma Informed Care and the highest quality delivery of services to youth in accordance with the Covenant House Mission Statement and Principles and Core Values.
- Engage with youth who may have mental health or substance use challenges.
- Participate in required training and team meetings.
- Leadership & Management
- Provide weekly supervision of all direct reports and include documentation of performance appraisals, recommendation for corrective action and/or development plans.
- Conduct regular team meetings, provide coaching, training, and professional development to enhance the skills and effectiveness of the case management teams.
