Founding Mobile Software Engineer

A stealth-stage neurotechnology startup based in Chicago is hiring a Founding Engineer to help build a first-of-its-kind wearable system focused on real-time brainwave monitoring and predictive health insights. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape both the core technology and the long-term technical direction of a mission-driven company developing next-generation medical hardware and intelligent software.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Lead the rebuild of the company’s core mobile application and own full-stack development across Swift, React, Flutter, and AWS/Azure.
• Collaborate with leadership and offshore teams while integrating Bluetooth-enabled hardware in a regulated healthcare environment.
• Provide hands-on technical ownership over product direction, architecture, and execution in an early-stage setting.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer
• Full-stack development using Swift, React, Flutter, and AWS / Azure
• Experience leading or collaborating with offshore development teams

• Experience developing Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
• Experience working under a Quality Management System (QMS)
• Familiarity with Bluetooth / BLE
