Job Title: SDET
Location:
Chicago, IL
Contract: 12 Months
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate business requirements & acceptance criteria into test strategies and test plans
- Design, develop, and maintain API automation frameworks for CI/CD pipelines
- Build automated functional test scripts using Karate, JMeter, Java, Cucumber/JBehave
- Execute full-stack and integration testing with 3rd‑party systems
- Conduct manual and exploratory testing as needed
- Troubleshoot issues, analyze test results, and drive defect resolution
- Provide mentorship to onshore/offshore test engineers on automation approaches
- Collaborate with product owners to clarify requirements and enhancements
- Ensure adherence to testing standards, methodologies, and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 2–4 years of hands‑on SDET / QA automation experience
Required Technical
Skills:
- Java (2+ years) development experience
- Cucumber / JBehave (2+ years) or other BDD frameworks
- 2+ years in test automation framework design
- Strong experience testing REST APIs
- 2+ years developing performance tests using JMeter
- Full‑stack & third‑party integration testing
- End-to-end system integration testing
- Experience with penetration testing (basic)
Desired Technical
Skills:
- Experience with AWS Cloud
- Familiarity with CI/CD (Jenkins, Git)
- Understanding of TDD
, code review, microservices - Experience with Apigee or other API gateways
