Akkodis is seeking a Java Backend Developer for a Contract with a client in Chicago, IL. Candidate must have strong capability in designing and implementing Spring Boot–based microservices to support scalable application development.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $58/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java Backend Developer job responsibilities include:

  • Designs and develops microservices using Spring Boot while ensuring clean, scalable, and maintainable architecture.
  • Integrates microservices with relational databases and streaming technologies such as Kafka to support real‑time data flow.
  • Builds and manages Azure pipelines to automate development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Collaborates with fellow developers to troubleshoot issues, resolve bugs, and enhance service performance.
  • Prepares comprehensive test cases to validate design requirements and maintain software quality throughout the SDLC.
  • Creates clear and detailed documentation for individual microservices to support future development and maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
  • 10 years of industry experience in IT.
  • Experience in agile development methodology.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with high‑performing teams and individuals to accomplish common goals.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $58.00 per hour
