As a Senior Software Engineer
, you will take a hands-on leadership role in shaping the design, development, and optimization of both our web and mobile applications. You will:

• Work primarily with Ruby on Rails in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) to support the creation of scalable, high-performance APIs and services.
• Contribute to frontend components built with React and React Native and integrate with them.
• Drive improvements in system architecture and performance through leadership in code reviews, design sessions, and evolving development processes.
• Collaborate with Data teams to design data models that meet operational and analytical requirements.
• Partner with Dev Ops to leverage AWS for simple and cost-effective cloud deployment, ensuring performance and resilience.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability to guarantee high availability, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with product teams to define project timelines, influence technical direction, and guide the team through complex design decisions, maintaining high standards of code quality and continuous improvement.

This is a full-time position. The salary range is $160,000 - $180,000 depending on experience and geographic location.

• You have 8+ years of experience in full-stack software development within a robust, highly available, multi-service ecosystem.
• You have production experience with Ruby on Rails (distributed architecture), React, Docker.
• You have strong experience with Postgre

  SQL features to build flexible data models.
• You have expertise building software on top of AWS services (ECS, RDS, S3, etc.).
• You enjoy technical leadership through code reviews and system design sessions.
• You possess strong communication and collaboration skills to drive alignment and delivery across teams.
• You have expertise in designing simple, supportable software with monitoring, alerting and performance tuning.
• You enjoy mentoring engineers to build simple, scalable, reusable software and share best practices.
• You are passionate about building great user experiences accessible to a wide range of users.
• You have interpersonal skills, empathy, courtesy, and friendliness.
• You are entrepreneurial and resourceful — as a startup member, you find creative ways to make a big impact quickly with limited direction.
