BMC program.

This role is ONSITE in Colorado Springs, CO.

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2

BMC) program is a keycomponentof the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, monitor the battle collectively, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2

BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges during all flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to improve performance. C2

BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify anddemonstratecurrent and future missile defense system capabilities.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

• Should understand the software development lifecycle
• Understanding object-oriented software development and automated testing, along with the ability to analyze high-level needs and define a structured, logical approach to refine the capability into an integrated set of requirements that lead to a fielded product, would be a significant addition
• Should communicate effectively, clearly present technical approaches and findings, and have experience writing and implementing project reports, plans, and status updates

WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:

• ABachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or aMaster’sdegree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
• Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued
  
  Secret security clearance at the time of application, which isrequiredto start
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for business needs
• GT software engineers are expected to have the following professional practical experience:
• 3+ years of Java development experience writing
• unit-testable operational code
• and unit tests exercising said code
• 2+ years in aLinux-based (preferably
  
  Red Hat/CentOS/Oracle Linux) environment
• 2+ years with
  
  GITin Linux
• 2+ years with
  
  Jiraand Confluence
• 1+ years of software modeling usingUML
• 1+ years writing & presenting technical documentation to audiences ranging from team members to non-technical customers
• Object-Oriented paradigms
• Software Design Patterns

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:

• Use of Eclipse,MATLAB,Visio, &Enterprise Architect
• Fluent in Bash (Bourne-Again Shell) or similar scripting
• Automated test-driven continuous integration development
• Agile methodology
