About

the Role

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager who is passionate about leading and developing talented engineers while driving the delivery of high-quality, scalable software. You’ll manage a team of full stack and backend engineers, foster technical excellence, and collaborate cross-functionally to bring innovative products to life. This role also requires strong data engineering and operational ownership capabilities, including maintaining production stability, managing ETL workflows, and partnering directly with clients to deliver end-to-end technical solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with product management, QA, and architecture teams to deliver high-quality software on time and within scope.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable applications and APIs built primarily in Java and Python.
  • Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/data integration pipelines to support internal and client-facing data platforms.
  • Ensure engineering best practices across code quality, testing, security, and deployment.
  • Drive sprint planning, resource allocation, and performance reviews for your team.
  • Support career development by providing clear feedback, guidance, and growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to technical strategy, architecture discussions, and long-term planning.
  • Champion the use of modern Dev Ops tools, including Docker, to support efficient development and deployment.
  • Take operational ownership of systems and services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, root cause analysis, and implementing both short-term fixes and long-term improvements to ensure system reliability and uptime.
  • Identify process improvements to optimize team productivity and software quality.
  • Work directly with clients to gather requirements, propose technical solutions, manage project execution, and oversee delivery from design through deployment and post-release support.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and independently drive projects to successful completion.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software development experience and 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proficiency in Java and strong working experience with Python.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing and delivering RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Strong experience with ETL processes, data integration, and data pipeline development.
  • Working knowledge of Docker and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Experience managing software projects in an Agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, performance optimization, secure coding practices, and production operations.
  • Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management, and maintaining highly available production environments.
