Java​/ETL​/AWS Engineer

Job Overview

Core Java Developer in Chicago, IL. Position type:
Contract to Hire. Duration: 6+ months.

• Develop and maintain applications using Apache Spark and Java.
• Work with different aspects of the Spark ecosystem including Datasets, Spark SQL and scalability support.
• Collaborate with business analysts and lead engineers to understand requirements and design solutions.
• Perform performance improvement activities to support Spark applications processing millions of data elements everyday.
• Provide production support and troubleshooting to uncover issues in Spark applications.
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring emerging technologies.
• Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
• Work experience in Data Engineering domain.
• Hands‑on experience in system design (simple), application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages including Java.
• Experience developing, debugging, maintaining code in a corporate environment with Java, Spark Framework and database querying languages (any SQL).
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Experience working in an Agile Software Development Environment.

• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Kafka.

Pay Range: $53 per hour.
