This iOS Engineer III role is part of the Smart Shopping Lodging team
, which builds the booking platform that powers property, room, and rate comparisons for Expedia Group. We deliver scalable web, native, API, and backend solutions that enable travelers to easily browse, compare, and book the best accommodations. In this role, you’ll focus on developing and enhancing Expedia Group’s iOS applications—making property, room, and rate comparisons fast, reliable, and seamless. Your work will help millions of travelers confidently book their ideal stay, driving satisfaction and loyalty across Expedia’s brands.
this role, you will:
- iOS Development: Own the development and quality of features implemented in the Expedia iOS app.
- Architecture: Ensure modular and scalable design and architecture of iOS applications.
- Projects: Lead projects with broader scope, scale, and complexity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other team members to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise during planning.
- Code Standards: Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and industry guidelines.
- Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Software Engineering: Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs, ensuring smooth communication between the iOS app and server-side systems.
- Testing: Write automated unit, system, and acceptance tests to support continuous integration pipelines.
- Agile Methodology: Participate in stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, contributing to the team’s agile development process.
- Bias to Action: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and technical optimization within the mobile development workflow.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience working in an iOS development environment.
- Primary Programming Language: Advanced proficiency in Swift and Xcode, with experience developing large‑scale iOS applications.
- iOS Knowledge: Deep understanding of iOS technologies and experience building scalable iOS application APIs.
- Frameworks: Proficiency in iOS frameworks such as UIKit, Swift
UI, Cocoa, Combine, and RxSwift.
Experience with Swift
UI is highly preferred. - CI/CD: Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for iOS applications, including automated builds, testing, and deployment.
- API Services: Strong understanding of client/server architectures and API service paradigms, including experience with Graph
QL, efficient query design, and schema evolution. - Architecture: Experience designing and maintaining robust features using architectures like MVVM, VIPER, and design patterns such as Factory, Strategy, and Adapter.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to lead technical discussions and influence decisions across teams and organizations.
- Testing: Experience with XCUITest for UI and integration testing is a plus.

Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
