Location Overview

Cboe HQ is located in the historic Old Post Office district and features expansive spaces with high ceilings and large windows, offering abundant natural light. Role Overview

We design, develop, deploy, and support global clearing systems. Our work focuses on system reliability, testability, recoverability, fault tolerance, throughput, and latency. Engineers at Cboe have a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals and software engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Cboe Clearing US is actively seeking a dedicated and highly motivated team‑oriented person to fill the role of Software Engineer, Test (QA) supporting our Clearing platform and its system functionality.
  • Work across US Clearing Systems groups; collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure new features and functionality work as expected.
  • Ensure overall system health so that releases are stable, do not negatively impact customers, and are accomplished smoothly.
  • Use a combination of manual and automation testing with a greater emphasis on automation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2+ years of QA experience, recent and demonstrable experience creating automated test cases and enhancing test frameworks.
  • Experience with Cucumber BDD framework for feature files and reporting.
  • Experience with Selenium, Playwright, or other UI automation tools.
  • Experience in Java and Python development for testing.
  • Scripting experience or a working knowledge of another scripting or programming language.
  • Experience testing API and API automation testing (REST and SOAP).
  • Strong understanding of object‑oriented design and programming techniques.
  • Strong working knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes architecture.
  • Strong working knowledge of database platforms such as Postgre

    SQL (preferred), MySQL or similar RDBMS, and document DB like Mongo

    DB.
  • Good working knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux (preference: RHEL/RPM based Linux).
  • Familiarity with FIX 4.4, Swift messaging protocols, and Kafka.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git (preferred).
  • Experience working in a continuous integration environment with Jenkins or Bamboo.
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool set is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills, exacting attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a cross‑functional team environment.
  • Experience working in financial markets and knowledge of clearing, trade processing or market data protocols is a plus.

Salary Range

Base salary range: $102,850 - $133,100. Compensation is determined by job‑related factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal alignment, and location. Eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe's long‑term equity programs.
