UST is searching for a Lead Backend Developer with AWS expertise to design and build secure, scalable backend services and APIs for cloud‑native ML applications.

Responsibilities ul> li>Lead backend architecture and implementation for cloud‑native services on AWS. li>Design and build RESTful APIs, asynchronous/event‑driven integrations, and microservices. li>Develop services using modern backend languages/frameworks (Python, Java, or NodeJS) meeting program standards. li>Build serverless and/or containerized services using AWS patterns such as Lambda, API Gateway, Fargate/ECS/EKS, and managed data services.
li>Implement secure access controls, secrets/configuration management, logging, monitoring, and fault handling. li>Drive code quality, unit/integration testing, deployment automation, and production support readiness. li>Collaborate with frontend, Dev Ops, platform, and product teams to deliver resilient backend services. /ul> Qualifications ul> li>7+ years of backend software engineering experience, including lead‑level design or delivery responsibility. li>Strong hands‑on proficiency in at least one major backend stack:
Python, Java Spring Boot, or NodeJS. li>Strong experience designing and implementing microservices and REST APIs. li>Experience building on AWS using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, Cloud Watch, RDS/Aurora, Dynamo

DB, and container services. li>Strong understanding of API security standards, especially mTLS for B2B API integrations. li>Experience with serverless and/or container‑based deployment models. li>Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or Cloud Formation. li>Experience with event‑driven architecture, message queues, or stream‑based integration. li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. li>Strong understanding of cloud security, least privilege IAM, and production observability. li>Familiarity with performance tuning, resiliency, caching, error handling, and API scalability patterns.
li>Experience mentoring developers and leading code/design reviews. li>Nice‑to‑Haves: polyglot engineering capabilities, familiarity with AI/ML service integration on AWS (e.g., Sage Maker or Bedrock), experience with distributed tracing and advanced observability, exposure to regulated domains or high‑compliance environments. /ul> Role Details p>

p>Compensation Range: $82,000–$123,000
