Location:
Chicago, IL OR Peoria, IL (Hybrid 2–3 days onsite)

Duration: 12 months with potential to be extended

Primary Responsibility

Develop, maintain, enhance, and support backend services.

Key Technical Requirements
  • 8+ years in Java
  • 1+ year in AWS
  • AWS services extensively used
  • Preferred testing tools:
    Cucumber, Selenium
  • Postman not preferred; team uses alternative tools
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Daily stand‑ups
  • Sprint activities
  • Work from Azure Dev Ops Scrum board
  • Occasional involvement in high‑level design

  • Hands‑on coding experience preferred over architecture‑heavy profiles

Technical Skills
  • At least 8 years of software development experience in Java (or equivalent)
  • 1+ year experience in AWS: cloud formation, ECS, Lambda, Fargate, Amazon Elasticsearch, S3, IAM
  • Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining software at scale
  • 3 years of experience building with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Developing applications using relational and No

    SQL databases
  • Application architectural patterns: MVC, Microservices, Event‑driven
  • Deploying with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops
  • Experience with batch or stream processing (SQS, SNS, Kinesis)
  • Designing well‑defined RESTful APIs; experience with Swagger, Postman, Assertible
  • Testing tools:
    Selenium, Cucumber, integration into CI/CD pipelines

Hybrid schedule with 2–3 days onsite at Chicago or Peoria.
