Senior Software Engineer

We are partnering with an established technology leader that develops sophisticated hardware and software solutions used by professionals around the world. The Senior Backend Engineer will help build the communication platforms, APIs, and middleware that power a growing ecosystem of connected devices.

• Build backend applications using Type Script and Node.js.
• Design and develop REST and Graph
  
  QL APIs.
• Create scalable middleware that enables communication between software and connected devices.
• Develop cloud-native solutions within AWS environments.
• Contribute to distributed-systems architecture and platform design.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve software performance, maintainability, and code reuse.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design decisions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Type Script and Node.js.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and reactive systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, testing, CI/CD, and version control.

• AWS Serverless Architecture.
• IoT, device communication, networking, automation, industrial technology, or hardware-connected software environments.

Hybrid role for candidates located in the greater Chicago area.

Base salary around $140,000 plus profit sharing.
