Job Description
This SDET will be working on a project at a global hotel chain to replace their reservation system. The current system is a green screen terminal application that is over 40 years old. The platform that they are migrating off of is an old Groovy framework, moving to Java. It needs to switch to a software as a service to handle the reservations.
It will require all of the functionality from the old system to work on the new system. They will take the tests that work from the old system and have them work on the new system. This will be 70% back end and API testing, and 30% front end/web testing. They must have hands on Java coding. They will work on a development team of engineers, developers, designers, and product owners.
They will do peer reviews of coding, and will work collaboratively with other SDETs. They are on Selenium now migrating over to Playwright.

Skillsand Requirements
- Full Stack SDET with hands on coding skills, 70% back end with Java/API testing, web testing 30%
- Java development, threading in Java, and using the Gradle build system
- REST API knowledge
- Heavy API testing in a framework (Rest Assured, Postman, Insomnia)
- Schema validation, endpoint validation
- Peer coding and peer review experience
- Large enterprise environment experience
- Great communication, strong English speaking
- Passionate about development and testing
- Local to Chicago; happy to come onsite 1-2 days per week
- Experience with Rest Assured
- Experience with Groovy or a JVM framework (Kotlin, Scala)
- Porting experience, manually
