Sprocket Sports is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to take ownership of quality across our youth sports club management platform. This role is critical in ensuring a reliable, scalable, and high‑quality experience across web, Android, and iOS applications. You will lead the design and expansion of our automated testing strategy, build robust test infrastructure, and act as the bridge between product requirements and test coverage.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys building systems, improving developer workflows, and driving quality across the entire SDLC.

Responsibilities- Own and expand the end-to-end automated testing strategy
- Build and maintain a scalable, reliable test automation framework
- Establish and enforce quality gates within CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure high test coverage across web and mobile platforms
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to ensure features are testable and well‑validated
- Write and maintain Playwright E2E tests for web and mobile web
- Expand Appium‑based test coverage for native mobile interactions
- Set up, optimize, and maintain CI/CD test pipelines in Azure Dev Ops
- Review pull requests for testability and instrumentation (e.g., data-testid usage)
- Triage test failures and determine root cause
- Product bug vs. flaky test vs. environment issue
- Maintain and evolve Page Object Models and test fixtures
- Perform exploratory testing on new features and releases
- Implement and maintain visual regression testing
- Create high‑quality bug reports with clear reproduction steps and evidence
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Git Hub Copilot, Playwright Codegen/MCP) to accelerate test development
- Own and improve test data strategy
- Seed data
- 4+ years of experience in test automation or QA engineering
- Hands‑on experience with Playwright
- Experience testing modern web applications (Angular or similar frameworks)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering and product teams
- Experience with Appium or mobile test automation
- Familiarity with Ionic or hybrid mobile apps
- Experience testing .NET‑based backends
- Knowledge of Azure and Azure Dev Ops pipelines
- Experience with visual regression tools
- Exposure to test data management and environment orchestration
- Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related field.

The expected base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000 annually, with additional bonus and equity opportunities. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
