Description
As a Dev Ops/SRE intern, you will be part of a team that works on projects spanning the entire technology stack. You will help automate building, testing, and deploying latency‑sensitive trading applications, design and implement critical back‑office data flows, and improve feedback loops to accelerate development and increase P&L.
You’ll collaborate with global technology teams, balancing reliability and innovation. Days will vary, and you should be self‑driven and eager to learn about trading operations.
Responsibilities- Provide day‑to‑day support of the firm’s proprietary software trading environment
- Work directly with our Traders, Trade Developers, Platform Developers, and IT Team to automate and maintain systems for deployment of trading software, configuration management, CI/CD and backtesting pipelines
- Work with end users to design monitoring and alerting systems that can be used to catch and diagnose issues in real time to help ensure the health of our trading environment
- Design and maintain continuous delivery pipelines for our trading platform components
- Build and maintain infrastructure monitoring and alerting systems to help us quickly diagnose and resolve issues
- Collaborate with co‑workers on designing applications and platform components to meet automation requirements
- Ensure that software and infrastructure components are up‑to‑date and free of any security vulnerabilities
- Systematises and documents new and existing processes to help manage our ever‑changing IT operations
- Work on automated provisioning of new servers and updating existing ones
- Work as part of an in‑office team to collaborate directly with experienced traders and technologists on brainstorming and implementing creative solutions to a wide range of problems
- Pursuing a BA/BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related industry experience
- Must be fluent in Python (or any other programming language at the time of interview)
- Proficient with code collaboration tools (git, Git Lab, Git Hub, Bitbucket)
- Basics of container‑based technology (Docker)
- Basic understanding of how infrastructure management tools work (Ansible or Puppet)
- Basic understanding of CI/CD tools (Git Lab CI/CD, Git Hub Actions, Jenkins)
- Basic understanding of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana
- Understanding of database design and administration
- Interest in financial markets and trading software
