The salary range for this position is $49.52 - $66.85 (Hourly Rate). Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Information Services strategically supports the organization through:

  • Enabling digital solutions by leveraging AI, automation, and advanced cyber controls that support digital transformation strategies

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Data Science team, collaborating with stakeholders to design, build, and evaluate solutions to business and clinical problems. Use data, statistics, and machine learning tools to construct solutions that meet requirements and deliver tangible impact. Bring a product mindset to a technical field, design solutions that deliver value, can be maintained, and train the rest of the team to adopt this mindset.
  • Conduct research, development, and prototyping of advanced technology solutions for the Canning Thoracic Institute, enhancing medical training, improving quality of care, and enabling timely interventions for pulmonary and thoracic patients.
  • Develop advanced technologies that enable using medical data across multiple modalities (lung sounds, ECG waveforms, airway videos, CT imaging, clinical notes, etc.)
Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in CS, Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in machine learning with a focus on model building, outcome analysis, and model deployment
  • Professional experience with cloud platforms such as Azure for scalable data processing and model deployment
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and a deep learning library like Py Torch
  • Strong problem‑solving skills: analyze complex problems, break them into components, and devise effective solutions
