Sr Software Engineer

Job Summary

Pay Pal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in Chicago, IL.

• Design, develop and deploy high‑quality product features for Partners and Marketplaces.
• Strong coding background in Java/J2EE technologies and RESTful web services.
• Perform unit testing and write functional test cases using Junit/TestNG.
• Prepare and execute performance tests using JMeter to identify and fix performance & scalability issues.
• Apply experience in SQL & No
  
  SQL solutions; understand pros and cons of relational and no‑relational databases.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, engineers and QA to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs and adhere to development goals and principles.
• Adhere to best‑of‑class coding and design standards.
• Identify areas of technical improvement and develop detailed business cases for improvements or new opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to other software engineers.
• Ensure all deliverables meet timelines, quality, and performance requirements. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

• Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus two years of experience in this job or a related occupation.
• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in this job or a related occupation.
