The Business Automation Engineer on the Echo Global Logistics Automation Team is responsible for creating and maintaining a digital workforce using a Robotic Process Automation tool. In this role, you will build and maintain software robots that will assist in the automation of key business processes. In addition to the technical aspect of this role, you will also work closely with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Sponsors, Engineers, QA and Architecture
- Develop deep expertise of Echo's internal and client-facing technology product lines
- Document complex software functionality
- Identify and optimize current business practices, workflows, and systems
- Utilize internal systems to automate redundant processes through development
- Leverage SQL to extract and query data
- Analyze data and provide reports for various internal departments and management to increase efficiency and effectiveness of data provided
- Provide mentorship to teammates
- Work to continuously advance your skill set
- Ability to prioritize projects from competing stakeholders and manage client expectations
- 4+ years UI Path
- 1-3 years Systems Analysis, Automation or Logistics experience
- Proficient in SQL
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Very organized and detail oriented
- Proven record of accomplishment in working in a fast paced environment
- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and data processing
- Experience with popular Python libraries (Num Py, Pandas, Matplotlib, Requests, etc.)
- Ability to build and maintain reusable, modular Python code
- Knowledge of API integration and RESTful services in Python
- Ability to use AI coding assistants and productivity tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT)
- Hands‑on experience with AI/ML frameworks (Tensor Flow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn)
- Undergraduate degree in:
Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics/Mathematics, Analytics, Logistics/Supply Chain, or Business
