Overview
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Elastic Platform Engineer to support a company focused on a large-scale government modernization effort migrating from Splunk to Elastic within a containerized, Kubernetes-based environment. This position is on-site at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The Senior Elastic Platform Engineer will lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable Elastic platforms leveraging Kubernetes and ECK.
Responsibilities- Design, deploy, and manage Elastic clusters within Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK) environments
- Build and maintain custom data ingestion pipelines beyond out-of-the-box configurations
- Implement and manage Index Lifecycle Management (ILM) policies and large-scale logging solutions
- Support and optimize Kubernetes-based infrastructure for Elastic workloads
- Troubleshoot and enhance complex Elastic deployments, including Splunk-to-Elastic migration efforts
- 6+ years of experience with Elastic engineering, platform engineering, or similar roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Elastic Stack, Kubernetes, and ECK (Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes)
- Proven ability to design custom ingestion pipelines and solve complex technical challenges
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Active Secret clearance
- Salary Range: $190,000–$240,000 depending on experience
