Software Engineer Consultant II

We are seeking a Software Developer to join our Investment Technology team, serving as a key contributor to building and maintaining trading platforms, financial reporting systems, and data integration solutions. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy scalable applications that support our asset management operations. A strong foundation in scripting languages, database technologies, and back-end development is essential for success in this position.

Work 2 days a week at Chicago Riverpoint office and 3 days at home.

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using
  
  Python, SAS, Bash, or Power Shellfor data processing, reporting, and workflow optimization.

• Write, optimize, and maintain complexSQL queries, stored procedures, and functions across enterprise database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services using
  
  Java Spring Bootand Node.js.
• Build responsive front-end interfaces using
  
  React.js, HTML, and CSS.
• Develop and consumeRESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and JSON-based integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable code followingobject-oriented programming (OOP) principles and coding standards.

• Implement comprehensive testing strategies including unit, integration, and acceptance testing (TDD).
• Perform code refactoring to improve performance, readability, and maintainability.
• Manage source code using
  
  Gitand participate in code reviews.
• SupportCI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Gradle, and containerization with Kubernetes.
• Implementweb and API security best practices to protect applications and data.

• Partner with business analysts, front office, and operations teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with cloud infrastructure teams to deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (Apigee, AWS, Azure).
• Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• 3-6 yearsof hands-on software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, SAS, Bash, Power Shell, or Perl for automation, data processing, and analytics.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience writing complex queries, joins, aggregations, stored procedures, and performance tuning across Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
• Proficient inback-end programmingwith Java and JavaScript.

  Java Spring Bootfor building enterprise-grade applications.
• Working knowledge of React.jsand advanced JavaScript libraries/frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Experience developing and integratingSOAP/REST APIsand working with JSON data formats.
• Hands-on experience with
  
  Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Proficient with Gitfor version control and collaborative development.
• Familiarity withCI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Gradle.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge ofNode.jsfor server-side development.
• Proficiency with development tools including
  
  IntelliJ IDEandPostman.
• Understanding ofweb security and API security principles.
• Familiarity withHTML/CSSfor front-end development.
• Exposure tocloud infrastructure and API management platforms (Apigee, AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.

• Exposure to investment management platforms (eFront, Aladdin) or financial services domain.
• Understanding ofAI, generative AI, or information agent concepts.
• Experience with reporting and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, SSRS).
• Familiarity with Alternative Investments (Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Assets, Hedge Funds).
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration concepts.
• Experience with additional scripting languages (R, VBA, Groovy).

• 2 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Compensation offered for this role is 70,100. annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
