MV Transportation is seeking a Lead Route Scheduler who works to construct daily vehicle routes for safe, productive passenger pick‑ups and drop‑offs in a transit/para‑transit environment. Also, to develop and implement para‑transit and taxi trips for daily schedules;

analyze historical route information, review travel patterns, scheduling efficiencies, improved timelines and overall performance to ensure quality service. This work is done in compliance with the procedures defined by the client and in conformance with contracted procedures. Duties involve daily communications and interaction with management on strategic objectives. He/she must also organize and conduct activities to assure safe, cost‑effective, on‑time operating performance;

track and report adherence to run cut structure and communicate issues to the General Manager.

Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking a Lead Route Scheduler who works to construct daily vehicle routes for safe, productive passenger pick‑ups and drop‑offs in a transit/para‑transit environment. Also, to develop and implement para‑transit and taxi trips for daily schedules; analyze historical route information, review travel patterns, scheduling efficiencies, improved timelines and overall performance to ensure quality service.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Execute daily scheduling/routing strategies for targeted on‑time performance and route productivity.
  • Schedule to taxi fleet for flexibility in order to achieve optimal bus fleet productivity.
  • Analyze bus departure from base, breaks, lunches and returns to base for adherence to run cut.
  • Analyze established and changing passenger riding patterns in order to adjust daily routing strategies accordingly.
  • Provide operational, on‑time compliance and other miscellaneous reports.
  • Analyze data in test environment and devise scenarios for improved service.
  • Analyze and adjust system routing parameters, as needed, for scheduling efficiencies.
Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years of scheduling experience, preferably in a transportation or messenger services environment.
  • High school diploma or above.
  • Possesses strong transportation skill sets, preferably in a para‑transit or taxi industry.
  • Has general knowledge of passenger scheduling software's, preferably Trapeze, Route Match or Adept.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables within a transit environment.
  • In‑depth knowledge of the Oceanside area, including surface streets, highways and transit centers.
  • This position requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under pressure.
  • The successful candidate will also demonstrate a high level of customer service commitment.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliability is a must.
  • Prior Driving/Dispatch experience is preferred.
  • Experience transporting persons with disabilities is a plus.
  • Computer skills are required for reports and for general scheduling functions.
  • Experience in supervising/oversight of 20 or more people.

Starting pay rate: $25.00/hour
