PASSANGER VEHICLE DRIVER - PART TIME

Malcolm X College is currently seeking a part-time Passenger Vehicle Driver for the Facility Management Department.

Reporting to an assigned administrator, the Passenger Vehicle Driver is responsible for safely driving and operating CCC vehicles to transport students, faculty and staff to and from predetermined locations, including, but not limited to, sporting events, meetings, and field trips. Performs other related duties as required.

• Drive a CCC transportation vehicle within prescribed route(s) in accordance with the time schedule, picking up and discharging passengers at designated locations.
• Assist in loading and unloading equipment or other transported items from passenger vehicle.
• Provide customer service to passengers.
• Conform to all transportation policies as established by CCC administration to create a safe environment and reliable operation of all vehicles.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations governing the operation of passenger vans and buses.
• Maintain logs and reports as required.
• Perform routine pre- and post-driving maintenance checks on the vehicle. Report any issues or faulty devices to administration.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle to ensure safe operating condition.
• Adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid Illinois Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement (P).
• Two years of passenger driving experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess a safe driving record.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations governing the operation of passenger vans and buses.
• Knowledge of safe driving practices.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment.
• Ability and willingness to work an irregular schedule on an on-call basis, including nights, weekends, overnight travel, and some holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally as needed.
